Saint Mary welcomes all denominations to the University, not just Catholic believes. In Saint Mary Hall, room 105 you can find welcoming faces in the Campus Ministry program. Campus Ministry is an opportunity for all students and faculty to grow in their faith. It is a place in which spiritual growth is educated and fostered, a resource of support for the spiritual life that already exists in our Saint Mary family.
Within Campus Ministry, students form bible study groups to share and spread the word of faith among each other. The student led bible group meets every Wednesday night at 6:30pm open to all!
Developing in your spirit at Saint Mary is highly welcomed. Participation in weekly Mass and the sacraments is encouraged for students to grow stronger in their spiritual believes.
“As someone who is involved in Campus Ministry here at Saint Mary, my favorite part about this welcoming home-like environment is the love that constantly fills the space: whether that be from greeting all who enter for a snack, chatting with my fellow Spires, and planning events as a Vincentian Leader. Love is always visible in the dainty place,” said fellow student Hannah Pflug.
A variety of opportunities exist in Campus Ministry for students to get involved. A leadership group that builds spiritual development opportunities for students is the Vincentian Leadership Program. The University of Saint Mary Vincentian Leaders program is a three-semester formation program—rooted in the Vincentian charism and Catholic tradition of discernment. Vincentian Leaders learn to listen to God’s call in their life. And in the spirit of Saint Vincent, they share their knowledge with campus and serve the community with their skills.
Besides developing individual faith, students spread the love throughout the campus and community of Kansas. They do service events around the community like packaging over 1,000 backpacks meals for students who qualify for free or reduce lunch. Also, encouraging the holiday spirit in the winter with decorating for Christmas and Adopt-a-Family.
Find your faith on campus and get involved through Campus Ministry.
