A few hours before the game, Soldiers in uniform hold the flag in perfect unison to practice for the national anthem before kickoff. They stand there not daring to flinch as they hold the flag they work so hard to protect. The flag presented at this Chiefs game held a little more weight than normal. A salute to the Veterans on Veterans Day and the opportunity for a few more seconds for fans in attendance to think about the sacrifices Veterans and Soldiers make for the country every day. A moment of silence is held to remember the lives lost in war and to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the end on World War I. Those chosen to hold the flag are lucky to be able to stand on that field but not as lucky as Americans are to have them watching their back.
