While it’s been cold outside, the swim teams have been heating up the pool.
The University of Saint Mary men’s and women’s swimming teams recently competed in the NAIA championship over four days. Megan Cutting placed 30thin the event, by setting the school record in the 100- yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.61. Brendan Jamerson, Andrew Goode, Matthew Burton, and Will Dvorsky also set two records in their events. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the four set a school record 1:32.80. They then set another school record in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 14:46.06.’
The 2018-19 swimming team is setting the standards high for the teams that follow them. The Saint Mary swimming team tweeted ‘’Well, its over… our 1stNational championship and what an incredible 4 days….. I’m so proud of this team and grateful for this experience.’’ The USM swimming team is here to stay.
