COVID-19 in Missouri
COVID-19 cases in the state of Missouri shot up 174 confirmed cases on April 27th, to come to a total of 7,171 cases statewide as well as 14 new deaths to raise the total to 288. Officials report there have been 70,932 tests administered within the state.
Governor Mike Parson was criticized for his late action to call for a statewide shutdown. 41 other states ordered a shutdown before Missouri did. He originally was encouraging each city and county to decide what their course of action should be.
