The University of Saint Mary Student Government Associations (SGA) is getting ready to announce the annual Spring Fling Week and Spring Fling Dance. The Spring Fling Week is an annual transition at the University of Saint Mary. It is a time where SGA and Campus Activities Board plan a whole week of events for the students to enjoy. It is a way for students to enjoy the culture and take a break from hard work. This year SGA is collaborating with Elizabeth Thompson, the Survivor & Victim Services Coordinator at the university, to ensure that students are aware of healthy relationships and the celebration of national sexual assault awareness month.

SGA Junior Class Representative Zach Romano said, “I am very excited for this year’s Spring Fling. We have many fun events planned for the students throughout the week with the exciting Spring Fling dance to top it all off. With some great savory food catered by the Heritage Center and rockin’ dance tunes that will be provided by DJ Spencer, this will surely be a night to remember.”

SGA plans on announcing Spring Fling by the end of March. They plan on hosting the dance at the Heritage Center in downtown Leavenworth. SGA plans on hosting the annual celebration from April 1st-April 5th, with the Spring Fling Dance on April 5th.  This year the theme is Grease.

“We hope to take these students back in time with the inspiration from Grease and what it was like to get down in the ‘50’s,” said Romano.
